Ithaca can be reached by various ferry routes via the island of Kefalonia. The main ports of Lefkada, Patra and Astakos have ferries on a daily basis to Kefalonia and from here you can take a boat to Vathy, Piso Aetos or Frikes ports on Ithaca.

 

By Car or Bus

To reach the island by car you need to drive to the port of Patras and then take the ferry to Ithaca. By bus the island can be reached from the central bus station in Athens which takes you to the port of Patras and from there, ferry to the island.

By Aeroplane

There is no airport on Ithaca but you can fly to Kefalonia Airport in Argostoli and then take a ferry boat to the island. There are flights from Athens Airport daily and also numerous flights direct to Kefalonia from most major European cities in the summer season between May and October.
